From 10 to 12 November, COP-PILOT will join O-CEI and CEI-Sphere at ENLIT Europe 2026 in Vienna, Austria. The three initiatives will share a joint booth in the EU Projects Zone, bringing their work on Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies closer to the European energy and innovation community.
Visitors are invited to meet the consortium representatives at the joint booth to learn more about COP-PILOT, discover its upcoming 2nd Open Call, and explore the project’s energy-focused activities, particularly Cluster 3E, which investigates how edge intelligence can help improve electricity grid reliability.
COP-PILOT and its partners take the stage
COP-PILOT will also contribute to two sessions during the event. On Tuesday, 10 November, the project will participate in the CEI-Sphere session “Upscaling Open-Source Cloud-Edge-IoT Tools Emanating from EC Efforts”, taking place from 14:00 to 15:00 CET at EU Projects Zone Hub 1, Hall C.
The session will showcase how the O-CEI and COP-PILOT Large-Scale Pilots, facilitated by CEI-Sphere, are building on previous European Commission investments in Meta Operating Systems and telecommunications innovation, including SNS and 5G/6G technologies. It will explore how capabilities such as monitoring, data management, security, privacy, and orchestration can be brought together into practical solutions.
An important focus will be how project results can be organised into reusable blueprints through standardised methodologies and demonstrated in relevant use cases. This work can help make European investments in Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies more accessible, reusable, and impactful beyond individual projects.
The session will feature Ioanna Drigkopoulou, R&I Project Manager at NETCOMPANY SA, the COP-PILOT Horizon Project Coordinator, and Andreu Belsa Pellicer, Senior Researcher at Universitat Politècnica de València, the partner coordinating O-CEI Horizon.
Explore the session and speakers on the ENLIT Europe website.
COP-PILOT will also attend the European Commission DG CNECT session on Wednesday, 11 November, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET. Representatives from several EU-funded projects will present their work alongside other European initiatives. Further details will be made available on the ENLIT Europe session page.
Bringing edge intelligence to the energy sector
Energy innovation will be a key part of COP-PILOT’s presence at ENLIT Europe, with a particular focus on Cluster 3E: Edge Intelligence for Enhancing Grid Reliability in Renewable-Energy-Rich Distribution Grids.
As renewable energy generation and distributed energy resources continue to expand, electricity networks face growing demands for monitoring, coordination, and flexibility. Cluster 3E explores how Cloud-Edge-IoT technologies can help address these challenges by connecting devices and data sources with intelligent analytics and services closer to where information is generated.
Its activities include improving the use of real-time flexibility in active electricity grids, supporting predictive maintenance for fast electric vehicle charging stations, and monitoring biogas plants to help improve operational reliability and the integration of renewable electricity.
These use cases illustrate how digital technologies can support more flexible and reliable energy systems, translating advances in cloud-edge coordination and data-driven intelligence into practical applications.
An opportunity to get involved with COP-PILOT
Beyond presenting its technical work, COP-PILOT will use ENLIT Europe to connect with innovators interested in the project’s 2nd Open Call.
The call will select 12 projects, each eligible for up to €200,000 in funding, alongside an eight-month programme of mentoring, technical support, and COP-PILOT platform training. It offers SMEs, startups, technology providers, industry stakeholders, research organisations, universities, and multidisciplinary teams an opportunity to develop and validate innovative solutions within the COP-PILOT ecosystem.
Visitors to the joint booth can speak directly with consortium representatives to learn more about the project, understand the focus of Cluster 3E, and find out how to prepare for the upcoming funding opportunity.
Whether you are working on energy technologies, developing a digital solution, or looking for opportunities to collaborate with European innovation projects, ENLIT Europe is a chance to start the conversation.
Learn more about the COP-PILOT Open Calls.
ENLIT Europe brings together stakeholders from across the energy sector to explore the technologies and collaborations shaping the future of energy. For COP-PILOT, the event is an opportunity to demonstrate how its collaborative platform and real-world pilots can contribute to digital innovation, while connecting with organisations interested in developing and testing new solutions. We are looking forward to meeting you in Vienna, to exchanging ideas, share our work, and connect with the people helping shape Europe’s digital and energy future.
