From April 7th to April 9th, our partners HOSCH and Predge participated in bauma, the world’s largest and most important trade fair for the construction and mining industry. At the event, our partners presented their IoT devices and innovative edge-to-cloud approach for collecting and analysing industrial data. This solution aims to increase the availability and uptime of logistics infrastructure in mining, particularly for conveyor belts. Their participation provided a valuable opportunity to engage with industry operators and users, validating the real-world value of our edge-to-cloud applications and data utilization.

ThingWave participated in a delegation event organised by Business Sweden and the Embassy of Sweden in Washington, D.C. During the event, participating companies engaged with stakeholders from the U.S. mining industry, gaining insights into current challenges, operational needs, and future opportunities within the sector. As part of the programme, ThingWave presented its digitalisation solution based on IoT and edge-processing technologies to representatives from several mining companies, including Nevada Gold Mines and Rio Tinto. The event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the company's technological approach, exchange knowledge with industry stakeholders, and gather feedback from key actors in the mining ecosystem.

On May 12 th -15 th , 2025, LTU participated in the 2025 IEEE 8th International Conference on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS) conference in Emden, Germany. LTU presented a paper on the investigation and development of a carbon-aware scheduler for the Edge-Cloud Continuum, designed to optimize workload placement by balancing energy consumption, temporal variations in carbon intensity, and resource availability. On May 21, COP-PILOT partners HOSCH and Predge presented at the Colloquium on Conveyor Belt Systems and their Elements. They showcased a novel approach for creating a conveyor belt digital twin and fingerprint to predict belt splice failures using edge-to-cloud data. The event offered a valuable platform to discuss this solution and gather feedback from a broad range of industrial companies.

On 25 May 2025, ThingWave participated in the New Technologies in Ground Control workshop in Sydney, Australia. During the event, ThingWave presented its ground control sensor concept to attendees during a site visit and actively participated in discussions, meetings, and knowledge-exchange activities throughout the workshop. The event was highly relevant to the COP-PILOT project, as ThingWave presented its work on IoT and edge-processing technologies developed within COP-PILOT and received valuable feedback from leading experts in the fields of ground control and mining operations. On 24–29 August 2025, ThingWave attended the RaSiM 11 conference in Luleå, Sweden. During the event, ThingWave discussed its ground control sensor concept, participated in workshops focused on seismic challenges in underground mining, and engaged in discussions on current issues related to digitalisation, seismicity, and ground support. The event was highly relevant to the COP-PILOT project, as ThingWave participated in expert-led workshops and received valuable feedback from specialists in the fields of seismic event management and ground support monitoring. The company also presented its solution to attendees, contributing to knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement within the mining sector.

On September 23rd-26th, 2025, LTU participated in the 13th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering (IC2E) conference in Rennes, France. LTU presented a paper on ColonyOS, an open-source meta-OS that coordinates distributed workloads across diverse computing environments, including practical experiences from two industrial deployments: real-time seismic monitoring at RockSigma AB and integration with EuroHPC supercomputers. Automationsdagarna (Automation Days), organised by Instrumenttekniska Föreningen, brought together industry experts to discuss the future of industrial automation and to award Sweden’s annual Automation Award. At the event, Predge AB was represented by Wolfgang Birk, who delivered an invited talk on “Predictive Maintenance and the industrialization perspective.” In his presentation, Wolfgang Birk examined why predictive maintenance, despite its promise to improve efficiency and reduce costs, still faces challenges in large-scale industrial deployment. Cluster 1 Represented COP-PILOT at the Swedish SME Pitch Session during PDAC 2026 Cluster 1 partners represented COP-PILOT Horizon at the Swedish SME Pitch Session, a high-profile networking and presentation event held as part of the PDAC 2026 Convention in Toronto, Canada. On 11 March, ThingWave AB participated in the NorthStar Community Meeting at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden, where it presented an early prototype developed within the COP-PILOT Horizon Europe project. The demonstration showcased how COP-PILOT technologies are being applied to improve safety in underground mining environments.  The prototype implemented a geofencing concept, where data from a ThingWave RBM-XR bolt sensor triggered physical visual alerts to enhance hazard awareness.
