The COP-PILOT project was proudly represented at the International Conference on ICT Convergence (ICTC) 2025, held on 15–16 October in Jeju Island, Korea – a global forum for exploring the future of digital transformation and intelligent networks.
Dr. Jing Li, Associate Director at the University of Bradford, delivered a presentation titled “Key Value Indicators for 6G: Evaluating Economic, Social, Environmental, and Service Quality Impacts through Performance Metrics and Sustainability Assessment.”
Her talk addressed one of the most pressing questions in the transition towards 6G networks: how to measure the true value of next-generation connectivity, not just in terms of performance, but through its economic, social, environmental, and service quality impact.

Dr. Li introduced a framework for mapping Key Value Indicators (KVIs) to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across multiple industry verticals. The proposed model integrates technical performance, societal value, and environmental sustainability, helping policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders ensure that future networks deliver net-positive outcomes across all dimensions.
In addition, Dr. Li participated in the panel discussion “AI for 6G and Beyond: Intelligent Networks and Digital Twin Synergies,” contributing to debates on how AI-driven analytics and digital twin technologies can unlock intelligent, resilient, and sustainable communication systems.
The discussions were centred on the project’s desired impact and its evaluation framework from non-technical perspectives, in line with COP-PILOT’s objective to enhance the sustainability, societal, and business impact of next-generation IoT and edge computing services across various domains.
