iLINK Presented the COP-PILOT Project at the 10th International “Supply Chain & Logistics” Exhibition
iLINK presented COP-PILOT at the 10th International Exhibition “Supply Chain & Logistics”, held together with the 5th Cargo Truck & Van Expo at the Athens Metropolitan Expo. The exhibition is the largest event of its kind in South-Eastern Europe, with more than 350 exhibitors and approximately 20,000 visitors over three days, covering commercial vehicles, electro-mobility, warehouse automation and digital supply-chain technologies. iLINK ran an exhibition stand with presentations to visiting professionals.
COP-PILOT was presented in full at the stand, as the project through which iLINK is building its next generation of supply-chain technology. iLINK explained the project’s purpose — piloting emerging smart IoT platforms and decentralised intelligence across the cloud-edge continuum — and then walked visitors through the agri-food pilot in which iLINK’s own work sits, following a batch of produce from the field, through processing and distribution, to the point of sale.
The presentation covered the full chain of what iLINK contributes. Crop-readiness information from the field triggers the dispatch of vehicles, so transport is planned against what is actually ready rather than against a fixed schedule. The routing platform then plans and re-plans the journey under real operating conditions. Each batch is registered on a permissioned distributed ledger, so that its origin, its handling and the conditions under which it travelled form a single record that every party in the chain can verify and no party can alter after the fact. Conditions in refrigerated transport are monitored by edge devices on the vehicles. Finally, the carbon footprint of the journey is computed and allocated down to the individual consumer package, so that the environmental cost of a product can be stated per unit rather than estimated for a fleet.
The exhibition audience — logistics operators, transport companies, food producers, retailers and technology buyers — responded to the parts of this that map onto obligations they already carry: demonstrating provenance to their customers, proving cold-chain compliance, and reporting on the carbon intensity of their freight. iLINK’s message was that these are not three separate systems but one traceable operational record, and that what is being proven in the COP-PILOT agri-food pilot transfers directly to other regulated and quality-sensitive supply chains.
The event is recorded under COP-PILOT as an Industry & Use-case activity addressing an industry audience. It supported the project’s dissemination and exploitation objectives by presenting the project and its results to the largest concentration of supply-chain decision makers in the region.
