DESCRIPTION:Special workshop:\nOpen‑Source Strategies for Europe’s Sovereign Digital Infrastructure – Striving for industrial European open-source platforms \n\n  \nThe COP-PILOT Horizon project will participate in the Open Community for Research 2026\, a two-day event co-located with the Open Community Experience 2026\, organised by the Eclipse Foundation. The event brings together researchers\, industry representatives\, and policymakers to explore how open-source collaboration can accelerate the translation of research into scalable\, interoperable digital solutions. \nRolf Riemenschneider\, Project Officer for both O-CEI Horizon and COP-PILOT Horizon\, will share insights on the policy and strategic importance of open-source ecosystems for Europe’s digital sovereignty. His presentation will highlight how collaborative development models\, standards-driven platforms\, and open-source infrastructures contribute to building a sovereign European software stack that supports innovation\, interoperability\, and secure cross-sector data exchange. \nGeorge Katsikas\, COP-PILOT’s Technical Coordinator\, will provide a detailed introduction to the project\, presenting the vision for a Pan-European standardized marketplace of services across five heterogeneous vertical sectors. He will explain the open-source reference architecture underpinning the project\, covering telco\, cloud\, edge\, and AI domains\, and demonstrate how the COP-PILOT platform maps to this architecture. His talk will also highlight how COP-PILOT is laying the foundation for future European flagship initiatives\, such as Euro-3C\, and contributing to the long-term development of interoperable\, standards-based European digital infrastructures. \nThrough these presentations\, COP-PILOT will showcase how open-source collaboration\, a standardized platform approach\, and cross-sector integration are key to driving sustainable innovation and digital sovereignty in Europe.

DESCRIPTION:COP-PILOT Cluster 3E Successfully Showcases Energy Ambitions at V2G Leaders Europe Event\nOn November 20th\, COP-PILOT consortium partners from Cluster 3E and from Digital for Planet (D4P) attended the high-profile V2G Leaders Europe event in Brussels. \nThe team actively promoted their work via a dedicated stand and poster\, engaging with cross-sector leaders in Energy\, Mobility\, and Digital. A core objective of the showcase was to explore and discuss the integration of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and bidirectional charging technologies within the Cluster 3E framework. \nThis engagement demonstrated how COP-PILOT’s energy initiatives directly support key European priorities\, particularly the drive for enhanced interoperability\, flexibility\, and resilience in energy infrastructure. \nThe COP-PILOT team also successfully connected with important complementary initiatives\, including O-CEI Horizon and #CEISphere\, fostering future collaboration opportunities in the energy sector.
