SUMMARY:EGOV-CeDEM-ePart 2026
DESCRIPTION:COP-PILOT Research on Smart City Value Evaluation Presented at EGOV-CeDEM-ePart 2026\nCOP-PILOT Horizon was represented at EGOV-CeDEM-ePart 2026 through research presented on the evaluation of edge-enabled smart city solutions. \nThe paper\, “Evaluating Edge-Enabled Smart Waste Management in Smart Cities: A Design-Oriented KVI/KPI Framework\,” was developed collaboratively by researchers from the University of Bradford\, Kingston University London\, and Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). The research is grounded in a live smart waste management pilot in Valencia\, Spain\, developed within Cluster 2 – Smart Cities of the COP-PILOT project. \nThe paper proposes a three-dimensional framework that connects measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with higher-order Key Value Indicators (KVIs) across sustainability\, social\, and business value dimensions. The framework aims to move evaluation beyond technical performance alone and provide a more comprehensive view of the value generated by edge-enabled smart city solutions. \nEvidence from the Valencia pilot includes an approximately 53% reduction in memory usage through split services and a 6.9-second actuation time from sensor activation to service deployment. These results provide evidence at the technical system level\, while the paper highlights the need for longitudinal assessment to determine how such improvements translate into wider public value. \nThe contribution demonstrates how Cluster 2’s real-world pilot activities are supporting research on the evaluation of smart city technologies\, while also strengthening the scientific dissemination and impact of COP-PILOT beyond the project’s pilot deployments. \nRead the paper and explore the COP-PILOT scientific publications.

SUMMARY:Beyond EXPO 2026
DESCRIPTION:AgroApps represented COP-PILOT at Beyond EXPO 2026 in Athens\, Greece. Through the participation of the AgroApps team\, the project and its precision agriculture use cases were promoted to AgriTech innovators\, technology developers\, and visitors attending one of Southeast Europe’s leading digital innovation and smart technology events. \nBeyond EXPO brings together startups\, research institutions\, investors\, and industry stakeholders from the AgriTech\, IoT\, and digital transformation sectors\, making it an important venue for networking\, knowledge exchange\, and project visibility. During the event\, COP-PILOT dissemination materials were showcased at the AgroApps booth\, helping raise awareness about the project’s objectives\, its modular open orchestration platform\, and the smart agriculture pilots being implemented under Cluster 3A in the Kilkis region of Central Macedonia. \nVisitors were introduced to the four Cluster 3A use cases covering precision crop monitoring\, AI-enabled agri-robotics\, blockchain-based supply chain traceability\, and smart harvest logistics. The event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with the Greek AgriTech ecosystem and highlight COP-PILOT’s contribution to sustainable\, data-driven agriculture.

SUMMARY:ICCS – International Symposium “Navigating the Future of Traffic Management”
DESCRIPTION:iLINK represented COP-PILOT at the International Symposium “Navigating the Future of Traffic Management”\niLINK represented COP-PILOT at the International Symposium “Navigating the Future of Traffic Management”\, organised in Athens by the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens together with international organisations including ERTICO – ITS Europe\, CEDR\, PIARC\, the International Road Federation and the European Commission DG MOVE. The Symposium gathered more than 400 participants and over 100 speakers from 35 countries across five thematic tracks\, and included a technology exhibition and technical visits to motorway traffic management centres. \nAcross the Symposium’s sessions and networking\, iLINK’s contribution to the discussion centred on distributed ledger technology and what it makes possible in transport and logistics. iLINK explained the role blockchain plays in COP-PILOT: a permissioned ledger records the operational events of a supply chain (the origin of a consignment\, its handover between parties\, the conditions under which it travelled and the moment of delivery) so that every participant works from the same record and no participant can revise it afterwards. In a chain where producers\, processors\, carriers and buyers each keep their own systems\, this replaces reconciliation between databases with a single verifiable history\, without requiring any organisation to hand its data to another. \niLINK also discussed the value of this approach beyond the agri-food chain COP-PILOT pilots. The same mechanism applies wherever provenance\, custody or regulatory compliance must be demonstrated to a third party rather than asserted: the road transport of controlled goods\, dangerous or energy products\, cold-chain pharmaceuticals\, and the emerging reporting obligations on the carbon intensity of freight\, where an auditable record of distance\, load and handling is what makes a reported figure defensible. \nThe second strand of the discussion was routing. iLINK presented the just-in-time logistics work carried out in COP-PILOT\, in which dispatch and route planning respond to events arriving from the field rather than to a fixed daily plan. Delegates from traffic management authorities and infrastructure operators recognised the shared interest: freight routing that adapts to real conditions reduces empty running\, unnecessary vehicle-kilometres and peak-hour pressure\, which is a network-level outcome as much as a commercial one. Combining adaptive routing with a verifiable record of what was actually carried and when closes the loop between operational efficiency and accountability. \nFor COP-PILOT\, the event was an Industry & Use-case activity addressing an industry audience. It supported the project’s dissemination and networking objectives by connecting COP-PILOT’s blockchain traceability and smart logistics results to an international community of traffic managers\, road operators\, public authorities\, and technology providers. \nRead the news on the iLINK website

SUMMARY:3rd Conference “Navigating the Future” (NTF) 2025 – Greece as a Central Gateway
DESCRIPTION:iLINK Presented COP-PILOT at the 3rd “Navigating the Future” Conference on Green Transport and Logistics\niLINK participated as a Gold Sponsor in the 3rd “Navigating the Future” conference\, organised in Athens by Techno Publishing / T-Press and the magazine Logistics & Management under the auspices of the Hellenic Federation of International Road Transport Operators (OFAE). The conference is dedicated to green transport\, logistics and the supply chain\, and brought together more than thirty speakers from industry\, government and academia across six panel sessions. \niLINK contributed to the conference programme through the panel “Digital evolution in the road transport of energy products: new legislative requirements and technological solutions”\, in which Panagiotis Zikos\, CEO and Co-Founder of iLINK\, took part as a panellist. Alongside the panel\, iLINK presented its smart logistics portfolio\, including just-in-time (JIT) logistics\, and distributed COP-PILOT promotional material to conference delegates. \nCOP-PILOT was presented as the initiative through which iLINK is advancing its just-in-time logistics capability from a routing product into a data-driven service. iLINK explained that within COP-PILOT the dispatch of vehicles is triggered by real operational events coming from the field rather than by a fixed schedule\, that each consignment carries a verifiable record of its origin and handling\, and that the environmental cost of the journey is computed and reported per delivered unit. The audience of transport and logistics operators recognised these as answers to obligations they are already facing — customer demands for provenance\, and reporting requirements on the carbon intensity of freight. \niLINK also set out the value the project delivers to the company itself. COP-PILOT gives iLINK a real industrial pilot in which to harden its routing platform under live conditions\, access to a European consortium of cloud-edge-IoT technology providers\, and the opportunity to combine routing optimisation with distributed-ledger traceability into a single offering — a combination the Greek market does not currently have and which is transferable well beyond the agri-food sector. \nThe event is recorded under COP-PILOT as an Industry & Use-case activity addressing an industry audience. It supported the project’s dissemination and exploitation objectives by placing COP-PILOT’s smart just-in-time logistics and traceability results before the Greek transport\, logistics and supply-chain community.
