SUMMARY:ETSI ZSM Plenary meeting #32
DESCRIPTION:On September 9\, 2025\, UBITECH participated remotely in the ETSI ZSM Plenary Meeting #32. During the meeting\, UBITECH presented a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) proposal titled “Automation across multi-site and multi-stakeholder environments”\, which was officially approved by ETSI ZSM as PoC 16. \nThis PoC represents a key milestone for the COP-PILOT platform\, building on the robust and proven foundation of the ACROSS HEU project. Through PoC 16\, COP-PILOT aims to enhance and extend this platform to support the large-scale pilot trials planned across the project. The initiative will introduce new features and significantly advance the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the platform\, ensuring it meets the operational requirements of real services across four vertical sectors.

SUMMARY:ETSI ISG CIM Plenary
DESCRIPTION:From 10 to 13 June 2025\, the ETSI ISG CIM Plenary took place at the FIWARE office in Berlin\, bringing together experts and stakeholders to advance the specification of Context Broker technologies.\nDuring this event\, our partner from NetFoundry had been invited by the FIWARE Foundation to remotely present the COP-PILOT consortium and contributed to the discussion by presenting the project’s innovative approach to secure integration.\nDuring the plenary\, NetFoundry introduced the Secure Integration Fabric (SIF) layer within the COP-PILOT architecture. This component is key to enabling secure\, intelligent\, and policy-based data exchange across multiple domains and infrastructures. Their presentation explored how the SIF concept aligns with the Context Broker model\, enhancing interoperability\, trust\, and orchestration in highly distributed environments.\nThis engagement\, along with the ongoing standardization activities across Context Brokers\, reflects COP-PILOT’s active role in shaping the future of AI-augmented\, context-aware digital services through close collaboration with leading standardization bodies.

SUMMARY:OSL#6 Plenary Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On May 22\, 2025\, University of Patras and Ubitech will participate in the OpenSlice Plenary Meeting #6 (OSL#6)\, taking place in Castelldefels\, Barcelona\, Spain.\nThe University of Patras\, a member of both the Leadership Group (LG) and the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) of OpenSlice\, will present the current status of the platform in preparation for its upcoming release. \nUBITECH\, also a member of the Technical Steering Committee\, will present its technical contributions to OpenSlice\, which are set to be included in the next release. \nIn the COP-PILOT project\, OpenSlice is a key technological component. Acting as the infrastructure orchestrator\, it is responsible for managing compute and network resources within the project’s operational environment\, in support of COP-PILOT’s objectives. Maestro is also a technological component of COP-PILOT\, acting as the end-to-end service orchestrator. Maestro participates as an open-source project in the ecosystem around OpenSlice\, highlighting use cases where multiple OpenSlice instances are used to manage different domains (owned by different entities)\, yet Maestro can coordinate these domains to achieve multi-domain service deployments. \nA mini demonstration is given by UBITECH showing a scenario where Maestro orders services across 2 OpenSlice domains\, highlighting the need for OpenSlice to provide location-aware services to Maestro. This is a crucial feature for COP-PILOT that will soon be addressed allowing for true – location-aware – inter-testbed deployments. \nLearn more about COP-PILOT collaboration with OpenSlice. \n\nClick here to learn more about the event.
